Compensation and LeaveEffective July 1, 2025, under the Personal Leave Program 2025, full‑time employees in Bargaining Unit R01 and related Excluded, Exempt, and Statutory Exempt employees will have their base salary reduced by 3% and will receive 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Part‑time employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis.
Job Description and DutiesUnder the general direction of the IT Manager I, the IT Specialist II serves as the Senior Network Operations Engineer. The role demonstrates leadership and expertise while performing a wide variety of complex tasks in support of System Engineering. The Senior Network Operations Engineer optimizes and applies architecture solutions for the benefit of the overall organization and heavily participates in advising and/or formulating information technology strategy and policy within the Department.
The incumbent must maintain confidentiality of information acquired while performing job duties, demonstrate ethical behavior, and work cooperatively with others. Travel to institutions and after‑hours support of California Correctional Health Care Services software applications and systems may be required due to operational need. Information technology support ensures California Correctional Health Care Services operates seamlessly, delivering consistent, cost‑effective, reliable, accessible, and secure services that support clinical and administrative programs for patients and business communities.
