Position: 4219 - Security Supervisor

Security Site Supervisor

Under the direction of the Security Manager and Security Director, the Security Site Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and compliance of the NTT Data Center physical infrastructure, equipment, and personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervises daily operations for a team of Security Officers; includes planning, scheduling, submitting timesheets, organizing, and directing execution of routine and special project work delegated by Security leadership.
  • Identifies and attracts talent by partnering in the recruitment process, assessing qualifications, interviewing candidates, and hiring individuals.
  • Contributes and supports the development, implementation, and enforcement of security protocols, policies, and procedures to protect the data center, assets, and personnel.
  • Coaches and guides Security staff by modeling professional conduct, adhering to security policies and safety regulations, and overseeing the team’s performance management.
  • Processes quarterly promotions with collaboration with regional managers and site managers.
  • Guides team members on unique client requirements and maintains client relationships.
  • Monitors security operations at all times during shift to ensure data center and surrounding property are secured.
  • Manages security compliance through audits in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinates Security vendor onboarding training in partnership with Deployment Services and Critical Facilities Operations.
  • Acts as first point of contact during security incidents, conducts investigations, gathers evidence, and prepares incident reports.
  • Administers operation of security related systems on shift, such as access control, CCTV, digital video recording, photo badging, etc.
  • Prepares and reviews periodic security reports to clients and internal leadership.
  • Organizes and conducts predefined actions in emergencies, renders first aid during events such as fire, work accidents, and illness.
  • Manages procurement of essential equipment spares and office supplies, maintaining inventory levels.
  • Recommends improvements to record‑keeping software to capture accurate security officer activities.
  • Ensures all Security Officers on shift meet dress code and Uniform Standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; regular, predictable attendance essential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with security process and leadership, preferably in a data center or critical infrastructure environment.
  • Knowledge of physical security systems, access control, surveillance technologies, and incident response procedures.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and OSHA safety rules.
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, able to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to function in stressful situations and make critical decisions calmly.
  • Familiar with occupational hazards and safety rules.
Education and Experience
  • High School or GED required.
  • 2-4 year degree or equivalent combination of work experience and occupational training/certifications.
  • Prior law‑enforcement and/or military leadership experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a security position in law enforcement, industrial, commercial, or governmental security and loss prevention.
  • Ability to navigate security technologies and computer systems, including access control systems, CCTV, and incident management software.
  • Internal candidates must have held a Security Officer L2 or L3, and/or Shipping and Receiving position, and held that position for 6 months.
  • Must possess active certifications such as Certified Security Guard (CSG) or Certified Protection Officer (CPO) within six months of commencing employment and maintain them throughout tenure.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly moves equipment and other hardware up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently move inside and outside the data center/facility, including ascending/descending ladders and performing duties atop a raised platform.
