We are seeking a motivated Assistant Pipefitter with directional drill experience to join our team in Sacramento, CA to support pipeline construction and maintenance projects. This hands-on role involves assembling, installing, modifying, and repairing pipe systems that transport water, steam, air, and other liquids or gases. Responsibilities may include operating a variety of hand and power tools, preparing and cleaning job sites, digging trenches, setting supports, and assisting skilled tradespeople as needed.

- Compensation: $25 - $30 per hour, DOE (may also work prevailing wage projects)

- Prior experience in construction operating a directional drill or bore machine
- OSHA 10 certification preferred
- Ability to prep and clean job sites, dig trenches or pits, backfill, and level ground to grade
- Capable of safely controlling traffic in and around work zones
- Experience with potholing to expose underground utilities
- Basic knowledge of underground piping systems (storm, sanitary, or water) installation
- Ability to assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings using various materials
- Skilled in measuring, marking, and locating pipe installations using rulers, levels, or similar tools
- Ability to cut, thread, and shape pipes using saws, torches, pipe threaders, and benders
- Comfortable operating hand tools, jackhammers, air compressors, and vacuums
- Able to lift, carry, and transport tools and materials safely
- Experience and ability to use basic hand tools, jackhammers and jumping jacks
- Able to bend, lift, kneel and stand for long periods of time
- Able to withstand exposure to heat, cold and rain; chemicals and fumes; dust from roads and break up of concrete; traffic on roads
- Able to travel to various job sites within a 2-hour radius (meet at yard & return same day)
- Must provide a valid government-issued photo verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving;
Class A CDL preferred; N endorsement required; airbrakes & manual preferred - Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
