Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to support a portfolio of light commercial properties within an assigned geographic territory. This field‑based role includes a company van, tools, and daily local travel to customer sites.

This position is ideal for experienced professionals with strong expertise in commercial HVAC systems, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical system repair who thrive in autonomous environments and take pride in delivering high‑quality service.

You will be responsible for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment, while also supporting general facilities maintenance including minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work. The role includes participation in an on‑call rotation.

Key Responsibilities HVAC & Mechanical Systems
  • Perform comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) inspections on package units and split HVAC systems.
  • Inspect, test, and service compressors, fan motors, blower motors, belts and pulleys, burners and heat exchangers, electrical controls and safety devices, condensate drain lines.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures including compressors, contractors, circuit boards, condensing units, and refrigerant leaks.
  • Safely handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA Universal standards.
  • Perform brazing and copper line repairs.
  • Service and repair steam and hot water boiler systems.
  • Troubleshoot airflow and ducting issues.
  • Understand and interpret control sequences and system operations.
Facilities & General Maintenance
  • Complete work orders for corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs (drains, toilets, faucets).
  • Conduct basic electrical repairs within licensing guidelines (switches, outlets, lighting).
  • Complete drywall repairs, painting, and light carpentry work.
  • Conduct service and asset inspections.
Required Skills / Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC and facilities maintenance experience.
  • Experience servicing light commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including package and split units.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, commercial boiler systems, HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • EPA Universal Refrigeration License (required).
  • 2‑year HVAC technical certification or state‑approved HVAC license preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS/work order systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a field service environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
