Job Summary

Red-D-Arc, an Airgas Company, is hiring an Equipment Repair Technician in Sacramento, CA. Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the technician repairs, refurbishes, and maintains engine-driven welding equipment and generators while contributing to a safe and supportive working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a culture of safety by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
  • Repair and refurbish all electric and engine drives.
  • Assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental; test and calibrate machines to ensure readiness.
  • Repaint parts, touch up paint, and apply decals to welders to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Replace defective parts and complete essential preventative maintenance.
  • Order parts as required to ensure efficient repairs.
  • Inspect returned equipment to ensure proper operation and identify necessary care.
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack, or other required equipment to organize parts in the shop.
  • Foster a clean and organized work environment for the benefit of the whole team.
  • Prepare and complete documentation for all machine repairs.
  • Occasionally provide on-site service to support equipment and customers.
  • Maintain open communication with all branch personnel.
  • Occasionally share expertise with customers regarding the most effective equipment for their projects.
  • Perform field work as needed to support business goals.
  • Perform other related duties as a collaborative team member.
Qualifications Education

High School Diploma. Post‑secondary education equivalent to a one‑year technical college or similar background is a valued asset.

Experience

0–1 years of related technical experience; we welcome those early in their career or transitioning from similar fields.

Working knowledge of power generating and welding equipment is a plus.

Licenses / Certifications

Possession of a valid Driver’s License is required for this role.
