Department Information

The mission of the Child Care and Development Division (CCDD) is to build, strengthen, and maintain an equitable, comprehensive, quality, and affordable child care and development system.

Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction… The Child Development Consultant provides expert consultation regarding various subject areas related to Program Quality & Improvement (PQI) obligations. Areas of focus include California regulations, program requirements, funding terms and conditions, and the Manual of Policies and Procedures for all contracts. The consultant leads and coordinates the division’s investigation of whistle blower complaints.

Special Requirements

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) or Supplemental Questionnaire must be submitted with the application. SOQ is no more than two pages, size 12-point Arial font.

Statement of Qualifications – Sample Topics
  • Describe your experience with program integrity and monitoring of state and federal child care programs.
  • Explain your knowledge of early childhood education state systems for subsidized child care and development programs, including understanding state and federal laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Identify any concerns or challenges you have with extensive traveling throughout the year.
  • Describe a project you led, including the purpose, tasks, and outcomes.
