- Provide individualized employment coaching and support
- Assist participants in developing employment goals
- Support job readiness and workplace skill development
- Assist with career exploration and job searches
- Support resume development and interview preparation
- Provide job-site coaching as appropriate
- Track participant progress toward identified goals
- Maintain accurate and timely service documentation
- Communicate with supervisors and members of the individual's support team
- Follow program policies, procedures, and documentation requirements
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Promote participant independence and reduce reliance on paid support when appropriate
- Participate in required staff meetings, training, and supervision
- Teach employment skills, workplace behavior, job-specific duties, and workplace routines
- Support employment retention, including punctuality, attendance, communication, and workplace responsibilities
- Identify employment barriers and develop person-centered solutions
- Explore employment opportunities aligned with individual goals
- Adapt coaching strategies to individual learning styles and needs
- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities, preferably in a TDS, employment services, day program, vocational, ILS, SLS, DSP, or related setting
- Understanding of person-centered practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the assigned service area, when required
- Ability to document services accurately and timely
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Comfortable working in community settings
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable teaching practical employment skills
Demonstrates expertise in providing individualized employment coaching and support for adults with developmental disabilities, focusing on job readiness, skill development, and person-centered practices. Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation and fostering participant independence while adapting strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
