Software Engineer – ISR Systems

A growing U.S.

-based defense and national security engineering organization is seeking a Software Engineer I to support the development of advanced airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems.

You will contribute to the analysis, design, development, and testing of software products supporting airborne ISR and related defense technologies.

This role offers direct collaboration with software engineers, systems engineers, chief engineers, and program managers across the full software development lifecycle.

• Perform software analysis, design, development, and testing
• Collaborate with software and systems engineers throughout all phases of development
• Evaluate commercial and open-source software technologies for integration into products
• Prototype alternate architectural approaches where appropriate
• Contribute to technical briefings and customer-facing review materials
• Participate in team meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving sessions

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience
• Experience with C, C++, or similar systems programming languages targeting Linux platforms
• Comfortable working in command-line environments
• Experience writing shell scripts or Python scripts to automate tasks
• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as IP addressing and subnetting
• Foundational knowledge of object-oriented design, distributed computing, and embedded software concepts
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in collaborative teams
• U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
