Job Description and Duties
The Business Process Automation Developer works independently as a technical specialist responsible for the design, programming, configuration, testing, and support of complex IT solutions that are developed with Java and the Pega Framework, utilizing the Pega Rules Process Commander (PRPC) platform and interfaces. The role also provides consulting services to application and infrastructure areas to leverage and interface with Java and Pega services efficiently and effectively.
The developer works independently with other technical staff to troubleshoot complex software problems and assist with resolution and preventative measures. Collaborative working relationships are established with teammates, customers, management, vendors, and other stakeholders to participate on projects and communicate effectively orally and in writing. The position provides services encompassed within the IT domain of Software Engineering, aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of department systems and programs.
The primary responsibilities of the Business Process Automation Developer include:
- Design, develop, configure, test, and support complex Java and Pega solutions.
- Provide consulting services to application and infrastructure teams regarding integration with Java and Pega services.
- Troubleshoot complex software issues, implement resolutions, and establish preventative measures.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Develop and maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
- Experience using Java, web applications, and XML.
- Experience developing in a Pega environment.
- Experience using object‑oriented programming principles.
- Experience working with relational databases and writing SQL queries.
- Experience using an integrated development environment (IDE) to build applications.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of ITIL, BPM, and SOA concepts.
- Experience using ticketing and code‑management systems such as CQ, CC, RTC, or TFS.
