• Analyze and recommend emerging technologies, such as cloud-native architecture, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and new system architecture patterns, to support the department’s strategic goals.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy production‑level applications using general‑purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) and other relevant tools.
• Serve as a liaison between business and IT stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance and comprehensive documentation.
• Manage technology projects from conception through deployment and ongoing support, ensuring secure coding practices and adherence to cybersecurity principles.

Qualifications:
- Knowledge of principles related to emerging technologies, such as cloud‑native architecture, to evaluate their potential application within the organization.
- Knowledge of principles related to emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), to evaluate their potential application within the organization.
- Knowledge of various system architecture patterns and design patterns to make informed decisions when designing systems with new technologies.
- Knowledge of basic cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices to ensure new technology implementations do not introduce unnecessary vulnerabilities.
- Ability to quickly absorb and apply new programming languages, frameworks, and tools in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills to deconstruct complex technical challenges, evaluate trade‑offs between different solutions, and innovate with emerging tools.
- Proficiency in at least one general‑purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Java) and the aptitude to quickly become proficient in others as required by new technologies.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams, articulate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders, and create comprehensive documentation for transitioning support to operational teams.
- Experience with software development, building and maintaining production‑level applications.
- Experience with taking one or more technology projects from concept through deployment and into ongoing support.
- Experience exploring and implementing non‑standard or emerging technologies.
- Experience formally and informally presenting information to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
