This is not a Sacramento-based driving position. Drivers hired for this position will report to and work out of our Reno/Sparks, Nevada operation. Applicants should be prepared to relocate or otherwise reliably report to the Reno/Sparks area for their scheduled shifts.
Apex Materials is currently hiring experienced CDL Class A drivers for double belly dump, side dump, end dump, and dump truck operations. We are looking for safety-focused, dependable drivers with previous aggregate hauling experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
This is a safety-sensitive position responsible for transporting aggregate materials to and from job sites while maintaining compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state, company, and applicable jobsite safety requirements.
Position Responsibilities Safely operate double belly dumps, side dumps, end dumps, and/or dump trucks
Transport aggregate materials to designated job sites, plants, and facilities
Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Conduct routine equipment checks, including tires, brakes, lights, fluids, and safety equipment
Promptly report maintenance issues, defects, damage, or needed repairs
Complete accurate DVIRs and other required driver documentation
Comply with DOT, FMCSA, state, local, and company requirements
Follow company safety policies and safe-driving practices at all times
Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, supervisors, and jobsite personnel
Follow customer and jobsite-specific safety requirements
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age Valid Class A CDL required
Doubles/Triples endorsement required
Tanker endorsement required
Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate required
Minimum 3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
Previous experience operating aggregate-hauling equipment, including:
End Dumps Double Belly Dumps Side Dumps Must be able to operate manual-transmission trucks (stick shift)
OSHA 10 certification required
Must successfully complete all applicable pre-employment requirements, including:
Pre-employment drug screening
Background checkFMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse query
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
Employment and driving-experience verification
Must be available to work days, nights, graveyard shifts, and weekends as operational needs require
Must be able to reliably report to the Reno/Sparks, Nevada area for scheduled work Compensation & Benefits Apex Materials offers eligible full-time employees:
