Role Description

The Dispatcher – Regional Truckload is a full-time, on-site role based in Sacramento, CA. This position is responsible for scheduling and coordinating regional truckload routes, assigning loads to drivers, and ensuring timely pickups and deliveries. The dispatcher monitors driver locations and load statuses, communicates route changes or updates, and resolves day-to-day operational issues. The role involves frequent communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams to maintain service quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The dispatcher also updates transportation management systems, tracks performance metrics, and supports continuous improvement in fleet utilization and customer service.

Qualifications
  • Experience in dispatching or transportation coordination, preferably in regional truckload operations.
  • Strong skills in route planning, load scheduling, and time management.
  • Proficiency with dispatch or transportation management software and basic office productivity tools.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze logistical challenges, make sound decisions, and solve problems quickly.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety practices, and compliance requirements is highly beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics, transportation, or related fields is a plus.
  • Prior experience in trucking, logistics, or freight operations is preferred.
