• SHIFT: 3:00 AM (Monday
  - Friday)
• Experience with manual transmission

Role of an End Dump Driver

Under limited supervision, is accountable for the efficient and effective operation of the assigned vehicle and end dump trailer, the consistent application of safety and operational procedures, and the maintenance of good customer relations throughout all applicable service areas.

• Performs daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on the assigned vehicle and trailer.
• Ensures all safety measures appropriate for operation of the assigned vehicle and end dump trailer are consistently and efficiently applied.
• Operates the vehicle in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads all assigned materials according to normal operating procedures and reports any violations to the supervisor.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Assures materials being transported comply with legal load limits.
• Reports all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority in a timely manner.
• Safely operates and maneuvers end dump trailers in compliance with Company policies, DOT regulations, and applicable traffic laws.
• Properly positions and unloads materials using end dump equipment while maintaining awareness of ground conditions, overhead hazards, and surrounding obstacles.
• Evaluates dumping locations for safety and suitability, recognizing and avoiding conditions that could create tip-over or rollover hazards.
• Conducts thorough inspections of trailer components, including hydraulic systems, tarp systems, lift mechanisms, tires, and safety equipment, and promptly reports deficiencies.
• Ensures loads are properly distributed and transported to prevent shifting, spillage, or unsafe operating conditions.
• Maintains accurate hauling, delivery, and inspection records as required by Company procedures and regulatory agencies.
• Works closely with dispatch, customers, and site personnel to support efficient loading, transportation, and unloading of materials.
• Maintains good customer relations and positively influences the community’s perception of the Company throughout all applicable service areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of related driving experience, with double/triple, air brake, and/or tanker truck endorsements.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Previous end dump trailer experience preferred
  ; however, training may be provided to qualified Class A drivers with a strong safety record and demonstrated experience operating tractor-trailer combinations.
• Knowledge of safe loading, hauling, and dumping procedures for aggregate, soil, construction debris, recyclable materials, or other bulk commodities preferred.
• Ability to recognize site conditions that may present rollover, soft ground, uneven terrain, clearance, or other operational hazards.
• Experience operating in landfills, transfer stations, quarries, construction sites, or similar environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations, vehicle inspection requirements, and safe driving practices.
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate end dump equipment and consistently exercise sound judgment regarding load conditions, ground stability, and dumping-site safety.
