Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical ICU – Safety Harbor, FL

A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve positive clinical outcomes in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for critically ill patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient assessments, vital signs, and changes in condition
  • Identify and respond promptly to medical emergencies and changes in patient status
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and organizational policies
  • Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other healthcare team members
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care
  • Coordinate discharge planning and referrals to support continuity of care
  • Educate patients and families by communicating medical information in a clear and compassionate manner
  • Serve as a professional role model and support the development of nursing team members
  • Demonstrate professional accountability and participate in ongoing learning and development initiatives
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, or a nationally recognized nursing specialty certification required within the designated timeframe
  • Minimum of two years of Registered Nurse experience in an Intensive Care Unit within an acute care setting
  • Critical care nursing certification preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced critical care environment
