Plant Controller

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations including establishing accounting policies and procedures, payroll functions, financial statements, annual reports, taxes, and participates in audits. The individual will also be responsible for cost accounting, providing manufacturing and overhead rates while maintaining the cost side of the ERP system.

• Establish and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures including chart of accounts, banking and reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, costing, and other systems as necessary
• Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and finance policies and procedures.
• Establish accounts payable policies and procedures that include accounts payable entry, verification, and payment in accordance with Company policy
• Establish accounts receivable policies and procedures that include invoicing and collection of outstanding debts. Ensures accounts receivables are collected in accordance with Company policy
• Coordinates, monitors and process payroll and appropriate deductions
• Issue complete financial statements in a range of five business days and improving to three business days after month end
• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
• Coordinate annual audit with external auditors and provide necessary information, visits, and resources
• Coordinate audits by external organizations including insurance companies, banks, creditors, etc.
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Maintains accounting files according to established laws and practices.
• Maintain cost accounting system in the ERP system
• Update and maintain manufacturing and overhead rates.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Previous experience in either a Controller or Accounting Manager capacity
• Experience with in a manufacturing facility is preferred
