Position Summary

As a Client Accounting Services Manager, the ability to go beyond the numbers and provide top‑tier accounting, payroll, and advisory services to a wide range of clients across diverse industries is critical to day‑to‑day success. This role is pivotal in providing financial insights to clients, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting and payroll requirements.

A successful candidate in this position will also train, mentor, and manage accounting staff, helping to develop a highly proficient team that exceeds expectations.

The ideal candidate will possess research skills, coupled with an analytical and intuitive mindset. Sound business judgment, a mind for critical thinking and problem solving, and thorough organizational skills are just a few of the qualities necessary to carry out this role.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day accounting and payroll activities for assigned clients, including ledger and sub‑ledger management.
  • Complete and ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Coordinate and lead the month‑end close process for client accounts.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Serve as a main point of contact for clients, building strong relationships centered on Grapp Lerash’s core values.
  • Onboard new clients and develop an accounting system to meet client needs.
  • Develop and mentor accounting staff to create a cohesive and collaborative team.
  • Possess a passion for meeting deadlines while exceeding expectations, all while handling multiple priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead implementation of new accounting and payroll software stacks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a similar field; desire to obtain CPA license or an active CPA is a plus.
  • 5 or more years of experience in the accounting industry.
  • Proficiency in Quick Books Online and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated agility with serving multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadline expectations.
  • Leadership skills, sound judgement, and ability to effectively interact with Firm personnel and clients.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and extreme discretion.
  • Strong office and interpersonal skills and an adaptive intellect.
  • Ability to recognize problems, ask the right questions, think critically, and contribute to identifying solutions.
  • Confident, credible, and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to travel as needed, which may approximate 5-10% of time.
  • Willingness to get the job done; this is an exempt position, so hours that exceed a standard 40‑hour work week will be required during busy times.
