Position SummaryReporting to Nouvel Catholic Central School’s Head of School, the Principal is responsible for the overall leadership and administration of the school. This role requires a visible, faith-filled leader who can inspire faculty and staff, partner with families and represent the school with confidence and credibility within the broader Catholic and educational communities.
The Principal fosters a supportive environment by overseeing student activities, implementing guidance and counseling programs, and maintaining open communication with students and families.
The Principal works collaboratively with the Head of School, Diocese, Board of Trustees, faculty and staff to advance Nouvel’s mission and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities Catholic Identity & Mission- Serve as the spiritual and mission leader of the school, ensuring that Catholic values are fully integrated into academics, student life and school culture
- Model and promote a life of faith consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Collaborate with the campus minister, clergy and Diocese; participate in diocesan processes as appropriate
- Actively participate in school-related services and ministries
- Provide instructional leadership that promotes academic excellence
- Oversee curriculum development, assessment and accreditation processes
- Support and evaluate faculty and staff, fostering professional growth and accountability
- Support, facilitate and participate in Professional Learning Communities
- Promote a positive, inclusive school culture rooted in respect, discipline and care for the whole student
- Support student formation through faith opportunities, extracurricular activities and leadership development
- Partner with families to ensure a strong home‑school relationship
- Champion Nouvel’s athletic programs as an integral part of the student experience
- Support coaches and athletic leadership in maintaining a culture of sportsmanship, excellence and balance
- Recognize the role athletics play in school pride, enrollment and community engagement
- Oversee daily operations of the school, including scheduling, staffing and resource allocation
- Collaborate with the Head of School on budgeting, enrollment management and strategic initiatives
- Ensure compliance with school, diocesan and regulatory requirements
- Serve as a visible ambassador for the school
- Build strong relationships with the parish, alumni, donors and community partners
- Represent the school with professionalism and integrity across internal and external audiences
- Support and help lead volunteer groups within the organization (Home and School, Athletic Boosters)
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and adolescent development
- Teaching experience; current or former teaching certification
- Valid principal or administrative certification
- Proven success in academic leadership and faculty development
