Paraprofessional Opportunities - Flint, MI Area (Contract Position)

A school district near Flint, MI is seeking up to four dedicated paraprofessionals to support students in various special education settings. These full-time contract roles involve working closely with students who have cognitive and emotional impairments in resource rooms and self-contained classrooms spanning all grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to students with cognitive and emotional impairments
• Assist with daily personal care needs, including toileting and diapering, similar to a health aide role
• Support students in specialized classrooms, including one position focused on Braille support
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement individualized educational plans
• Maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years (60 semester hours) of college credit, an associate's degree or higher, OR successful passage of the ETS Parapro Assessment
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred
• Ability to assist with personal care needs sensitively and professionally
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• A copy of your official transcript demonstrating 60+ semester hours or proof of passing the Parapro assessment is required prior to placement

Schedule:

• Position is located in the Flint, MI area with possible work sites around Grand Blanc
• Full-time - 37.5 hours per week
• Typical hours range between 7:30/8:30 AM and 5:30 PM, depending on assignment
