We are looking for an instructor to impart the knowledge and skills necessary for students to succeed in our Sterile Processing Technician programs. The instructor is responsible for delivering high‑quality classroom instruction and ensuring student competency.
Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver classroom or lab instruction based on approved course outlines.
- Assess student learning and maintain strong outcomes in retention, success, and attendance.
- Motivate and engage students, utilizing diverse teaching methods and materials.
- Advise students on attendance, grades, and course completion.
- Contact absentee students via text, email, or phone to improve retention.
- Maintain classroom environment and enforce campus policies regarding attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Prepare whiteboard with instructor contact info, date, class name, objectives, and next session objectives.
- Monitor and prepare supplies and equipment; notify campus personnel of needed attention.
- Participate in faculty, staff, committee, and in‑service meetings.
- Engage in professional development activities, including continuing education, workshops, conferences, and vendor shows.
- Support related departments such as Financial Aid, Admissions, and Career Services.
- Ensure all instructional activity is conducted legally and ethically.
- Document and report success metrics such as success rate, retention rate, attendance rate, instructor evaluations, and exam pass rates.
- Maintain employer relationships with annual contacts.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education preferred.
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in sterile processing or related field from an accredited institution.
- Two years of documented experience in sterile processing (or three years of equivalent job‑related experience).
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This position may require working late nights or weekends. The employee will stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and must have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to use phone, computer keyboard, and other equipment.
