Salary: salary range $90,000 to $105,000; commensurate with experience.
The Shared-Time Director serves as the chief administrator of the Shared-Time program by providing leadership and support to staff, supervising and mentoring teacher educators, and developing and implementing policies, programs, and curriculum in a manner that fosters relationships with non-public schools for the continuation and expansion of Shared-Time programs and promotion of student growth and development opportunities, both educationally and personally.
COMPENSATIONsalary range $90,000 to $105,000; commensurate with experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Evaluate/supervise/discipline all Shared-Time teachers and ensure compliance with the Teacher Tenure Act, school code, certifications, and the State Aid Act.
- Work in cooperation with district attorneys to ensure all necessary documents, employment contracts, personnel issues, and student count are accurate and authentic while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records with buildings that participate in the program.
- Act as liaison between the School District and non-public schools.
- Interface with pupil accounting auditors to ensure maximum benefit to the School District.
- Prepare, plan, and participate in teacher recruitment and in-service.
- Calculate shared time FTE and provide a cost-benefit analysis; ensure compliance with the state aid act and other statutes and regulations.
- Lead Count Day preparations related to Shared-Time programs.
- Provide ongoing advice and support to the School District regarding Shared-Time programs for the length of the contract period.
- Ensure that all MDE paperwork is accurate and timely in regards to Shared-Time pupil accounting.
- Review staff purchase orders, conference requests, and time off requests and approve or deny requests based on the needs of the program and district policies.
- Hold pre-school meetings and new meetings with Shared-Time teachers and building principals.
- Conduct teacher observations to ensure a satisfactory learning experience for students and identify areas for improvement.
- Mentor teachers to support professional growth while enhancing the program’s culture and increasing retention.
- Manage the SCECH process for Shared-Time teachers.
- Develop and manage all Shared-Time teachers’ schedules annually while ensuring building principals are notified of these schedules and any changes.
- Implement staff training as required, including shared-time secretary pupil accounting training.
- Adhere to the board of education and district policies.
- Maintain outstanding work ethic and high standards for work performance.
- Respect and keep confidential student, parent, and staff information.
- Relate to students and display effective and innovative ideas for building relationships and creating a school culture conducive to student learning and staff development.
- Assure positive attitudes toward students, parents, staff, and visitors are cultivated, and effective skills in human relations are developed and practiced.
- Advocate for a child-centered approach to school and student management and extend that expectation to staff.
- Provide leadership and shared responsibility to establish a safe and orderly environment that is conducive to learning by all students.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership or Administration.
- Valid Michigan School Administrator Certificate.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
- Minimum of three (3) years of building administrator experience;
Central Office experience preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of exemplary teaching experience.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, central office, school-based staff, students, parents, and community members.
- Must have knowledge of curriculum, instruction, organizational patterns, school operations, and pupil services.
- Possesses high levels of proficiency in Google and Microsoft applications.
