Education Administration, Special Education Teacher
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Executive Director and Director of Special Education, the Supervisor of Special Education will provide leadership that includes, but is not limited to, the administration and management of Special Education Services and Programs by SISD Ancillary staff and those activities adjunct to Special Education. The Supervisor will manage Special Education ancillary staff, including evaluation of service providers.
In addition, the Special Education Supervisor will be responsible for sustaining and adapting the SISD Teacher Mentoring program and partnering with other departments for its implementation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform evaluative duties and IDP support for various ancillary staff
- Lead and provide oversight to ancillary work teams
- Implement and continue the alignment of the SISD onboarding processes for ancillary staff within the Special Education department, along with consultation with Human Resources.
- Maintain staffing and caseload details for accurate reporting and identify needs in a timely manner
- Develop staffing plans and provide recommendations regarding local and county-wide staffing needs, including the evaluation of any needed virtual partnerships
- Actively liaison with Human Resources to provide insight and strategy development for staff attraction and retention
- Developing needs assessments and in-service training for Special Education ancillary staff.
- Assist the Special Education ancillary providers in the selection, procurement, and dissemination of materials designed for use with students with disabilities.
The district will provide a competitive compensation package with salary commensurate with the education and experience of the candidate. A two-year contract with provisions for annual review and evaluation will be offered.
