Middle School ELA Teacher

This position is responsible for delivering English Language Arts instruction to students in grades 6-8, utilizing research-based strategies to enhance student engagement and academic achievement. See the full job description included.

• Must have a valid State of Michigan teacher certification with a BA and/or BX endorsement
• Bachelors degree is required
• Minimum of 3 years teaching
• Knowledge of MTSS framework

• Implementation of English Language Arts curriculum
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and are in line with the State standards
• Develop and implement strategies of interventions for individual students
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Maintain classroom management and discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school

• Demonstrate interest in the work of the Academy and a strong commitment to the moral values and dedication to providing an excellent educational foundation for learners that will enable them to be motivated and excited learners
• Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding information, policies, and procedures
• Ensure confidentiality of all student and Academy privileged information
