Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Nexteer is looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer and play a key role in advancing automotive steering technologies. This position focuses on Columns, Intermediate Shafts (I‑Shafts), Column Intermediate Shafts (CIS), and Hand Wheel Actuators (HWA). We are looking for an experienced engineer with strong technical expertise and proven problem‑solving skills to drive process improvements and support new product launches.

• Lead engineering projects for Manual & Power Columns, I‑Shaft, and Hand Wheel Actuator manufacturing processes.
• Develop and optimize production methods to improve efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Implement root cause analysis and corrective actions for process issues.
• Support new product launches and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem‑solving methodologies.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing with a focus on Columns, CIS, I‑Shaft, and knowledge of Hand Wheel Actuators.
• Strong knowledge of machining, assembly, and material processes.
• Proven experience with problem‑solving tools:
  Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher)
• Additional Lean/Continuous Improvement certifications preferred
• Experience with automation and robotics manufacturing preferred
• Knowledge of GD&T and automotive quality standards (IATF 16949) preferred
• Proficiency in CAD and manufacturing simulation tools preferred

• Bachelor’s degree Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
