About the Role

Work requires evaluation, selection, and application of advanced electrical engineering principles using originality, engineering judgment, and leadership skills to ensure successful development, integration, and launch of automotive electrical hardware products. Must demonstrate proven competency in electronic design and development from concept through production release. The Electrical Hardware Integration Leader provides technical leadership for a team of electrical engineers responsible for hardware design, verification, integration, issue resolution, and launch support activities.

This position is accountable for the execution of electrical hardware deliverables, technical risk management, engineering resource planning. The chosen candidate serves as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and ensures alignment between customer requirements, system architecture, electrical hardware designs, and program objectives for a world class Tier 1 automotive supplier based in Saginaw, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, integration, verification, and implementation of electrical hardware for automotive steering and control systems.
  • Ensure electrical architectures, schematics, and component selections align with customer requirements, system requirements, safety objectives, and Nexteer standards.
  • Drive robustness through design reviews, simulation, analysis, testing, and lessons learned.
  • Lead technical reviews for schematics, PCB layouts, component selections, and validation plans.
  • Guide the development of DFMEAs, circuit analysis documentation, and verification strategies
  • Support and escalate complex root cause investigations involving electrical hardware, software, EMC, systems engineering, and manufacturing interactions; ensure timely resolution of issues from development through launch.
  • Drive electrical engineering program execution including on-time delivery of specifications, eBOMs, DV/PV activities, and design releases in accordance with program milestones.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical, timing, quality, and resource risks.
  • Coordinate engineering activities with Program Teams, Systems, Software, EMC, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality organizations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and design quality.
  • Promote reuse of proven designs, best practices, and standard methodologies; champion a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in electronic design with analog and digital circuits. Strong background in analog and digital circuit design, validation, and root cause analysis, hardware robustness, EMC, diagnostics, reliability, and validation methodologies. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex product development environments. Strong communication, presentation, and customer interaction skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous programs across cross-functional teams under dynamic conditions.

Willingness to take ownership of complex issues and drive sound engineering solutions under urgent timing constraints. Ability to travel internationally several times per year (when required)
