- Coordinate domestic and international transportation for inbound materials, outbound shipments, and operational needs.
- Arrange transportation using approved carriers, customer‑designated carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
- Serve as the primary logistics contact for carriers, forwarders, brokers, suppliers, and customer‑designated providers for planning, execution, and issue resolution.
- Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate transportation quotes, recommending solutions that balance service, transit time, risk, and cost.
- Determine and apply appropriate Incoterms based on customer, supplier, and contractual requirements.
- Maintain Schedule B, HS/HTS classifications, and country‑of‑origin data to support import/export compliance.
- Prepare and submit export filings through AES in accordance with regulations.
- Prepare and review shipping documents including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and export declarations.
- Coordinate packaging, crating, and shipment preparation to meet customer and carrier requirements.
- Monitor shipments, resolve delays, claims, and discrepancies, and support expedited or critical shipments as needed.
- Oversee receiving activities for incoming materials, components, tooling, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure materials are verified against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
- Provide guidance to Shipping & Receiving staff on procedures, material handling, and inventory control.
- Resolve receiving discrepancies, shortages, damage, and supplier issues with Purchasing and suppliers.
- Ensure accurate and timely receiving transactions and inventory updates.
- Coordinate material movement and storage to support inventory accuracy and production needs.
- Investigate inventory variances, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with cross‑functional teams.
- Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform shipping, receiving, and material handling tasks as needed.
- Support the Quality Management System and applicable ISO requirements.
- Participate in internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure shipping, receiving, and transportation activities comply with procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience managing domestic and international shipments and working with carriers, forwarders, brokers, suppliers, and customer‑designated transportation providers in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting inventory integrity through receiving oversight, transaction accuracy, discrepancy resolution, and corrective actions.
- Strong computer proficiency, attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, transportation, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
- Conduct all activities professionally, ethically, and respectfully.
- Maintain confidentiality of company, customer, supplier, and proprietary information.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to operate office equipment, computers, communication devices, and material‑handling equipment with proper training.
- Experience preparing or coordinating hazardous materials shipments under DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.
- Knowledge of Incoterms, Schedule B, HS/HTS classifications, and trade compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP/MRP experience preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant shipping/receiving or logistics coordination experience.
