CNC Machining Technician – 1st Shift

Saginaw, MI

Pay: 19.96

Description
  • The Machining Technician supports high-volume automotive CNC milling operations by maintaining safe production, dimensional quality, machine uptime, and process stability.
  • The role requires hands‑on use of Fanuc CNC controls, interpretation of CMM and inspection data, machine offset adjustments, and close coordination with Maintenance, Quality, Operations, and Engineering to resolve machining and downtime issues.
Experience Required
  • 1‑3 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands‑on CNC milling experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Required ability to interface directly with Fanuc CNC controls, including alarms, program verification, and offset changes.
  • Experience with aluminum machining, cutting tools, work holding, coolant, and common milling quality issues.
  • Ability to interpret CMM data, inspection results, part prints, and GD&T to make machine offset decisions.
  • Preferred experience with 5‑axis CNC controls or other advanced multi‑axis machining functions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work with Maintenance, Quality, Operations, and Engineering during downtime or process issues.
  • Good mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
Skills Required
  • Support CNC milling production in a high‑volume automotive environment with focus on safety, quality, delivery, and uptime.
  • Use Fanuc CNC controls to monitor operation, review alarms, verify programs, and make tool or work offset adjustments.
  • Interpret part prints, GD&T, inspection results, and CMM data to maintain dimensional capability.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues including tool wear, dimensional drift, chatter, surface finish, fixtures, coolant, cycle interruptions, and machine alarms.
  • Work with Maintenance and skilled trades to diagnose downtime, support repairs, and verify machine recovery.
  • Support aluminum machining processes, tooling performance, work holding, and process adjustments.
  • Document offset changes, troubleshooting activity, quality concerns, and corrective actions.

Education Required:

HS Diploma / GED

Education Preferred

A two‑year technical degree, certificate, apprenticeship, or equivalent CNC/manufacturing training is preferred.
