SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
Under frequent supervision, specializes in operating hydro testing and belling equipment. Assists in the departmental housekeeping and safety efforts and works collaboratively with other members of the department and production counterparts to ensure production workflow.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES- Follows all safety and company policies / procedures and promotes a safe culture
- Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules and regulations
- Wear all required personal protective equipment
- Preparing pipe for hydro testing
- Hydro testing of pipe
- Make belling calculations involving the addition and subtraction of fractions
- Belling of pipe per specifications
- Performing end preparation of pipe including cutting of bevels, miters and square cutting
- Maintain all required paperwork associated with hydro and belling applications
- Inspects, cleans and performs basic preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
- Maintain housekeeping within all production, storage and waste areas
- Follows all work instructions, procedures, and job safely analysis (JSA’s)
- Reading of drawings
- Properly identify (mark) pipe with the use of spray paint or stamps
- Identify and report any unsafe working conditions or equipment
- Effectively communicate issues to management
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and performance of the essential functions
- Safely operate machinery certified to use – overhead crane, forklift
- Propose standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job safety analysis(JSAs)
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary
- Must have the ability to operate the following equipment: oxygen acetylene & natural gas cutting torch, power tools, air grinders
- Must be able to use precision measuring equipment including but not limited to measuring tape and 100th diameter tape
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence
- Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, multitask and work independently with attention to detail
- Ability to work against and meet deadlines

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preference given to individuals who have previous Hydro / Belling experience
- 1 year pipe finish experience preferred
