Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7:15 AM

Job Description

The Staff RN works under the supervision of the Med-Surg Nurse Manager to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care on the nursing unit according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines. The RN accepts responsibility for directing co-workers in the implementation of the patient's plan of care and performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using the Nursing Process, including completing nursing assessments and documenting appropriately in the patient chart.
• Develops and implements a plan of care based on patient assessments and ensures proper documentation.
• Evaluates the patient's response to care and updates the plan of care as needed.
• Oversees the delegation of specific aspects of the patient plan of care to unit staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of Med-Surg experience (required)
• Med-Surg Observation experience (required)
• Current Skills Checklist pertinent to Med-Surg (required)
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Active Michigan RN license (required)
