Full‑Time Night Shift Licensed Practical Nurses – Saginaw County Jail, Saginaw, Michigan

We offer a $2 shift differential for night shift.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers quality care within the scope of practice defined by the state nurse practice act. Responsibilities include monitoring patients, providing nursing care as directed by the HSA, DON, RN, or medical director, and delegating duties as appropriate.

• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
• Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
• Active CPR certification.
• Knowledge of state laws and regulations governing practice.
• Completion of initial and annual clinical competencies as required.

• Use a systematic approach to meet each patient’s health needs.
• Implement nursing care within the LPN’s scope of practice.
• Assist in developing and implementing teaching plans for health promotion.
• Clean and dress wounds with appropriate bandaging.
• Administer medications.
• Provide care for multiple patients as directed.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to medical staff.
• Document actions and maintain medical records.
• Perform other nursing duties as assigned by the facility.
