Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive direct patient care within the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient treatment. The RN functions as a team leader or member, ensuring high-quality care through collaboration and supervision of support staff.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs regularly and administer skilled nursing services in accordance with physician-approved care plans and evidence-based standards.
• Deliver direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, patient education, responding to call lights, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans, participate in updating care strategies, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures related to patient care.
• Oversee, delegate, and provide direction to support staff to ensure coordinated and efficient care.
• Document all clinical activities accurately and timely in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience, with at least 1 year in Neuro PCU/Stepdown settings.
• Active Michigan nursing license as verified by Nursys or LARA.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHSS Certification required.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team and deliver high-quality patient care.
• Valid driver's license or current state-specific licensing required, if applicable.
