Electrical Maintenance Supervisor
Under general supervision, performs advanced technical work overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliable operation of electrical, electronic, instrumentation and control, and power distribution systems. Supervises the Electrical Maintenance staff and coordinated maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the wastewater treatment plant, retention treatment basins (RTBs), lift stations.
Major DutiesEducation:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of Vocational/Technical training in Industrial Electricity, Electrical, Electronic Engineering Technology, or related field required.
Experience:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience inspecting, testing, repairing, and upgrading power systems and automated machinery in an industrial setting.
Licenses and
Certifications:
- Possession and maintenance of a State of Michigan Electrical Journeyperson License required.
- Possession and maintenance of a State of Michigan driver's license required.
Knowledge of:
- National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and electrical safety practices.
- Wastewater treatment processes as they relate to electrical and control systems.
- Design, installation, maintenance and repair of industrial electrical systems, including medium-voltage power distribution systems.
- Programmable logic controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems, computerized maintenance systems and related computer applications.
- Operation and maintenance of gas-fired steam boilers, condensate systems, gas and electrical furnaces, and hot water heating systems.
Skill in:
- Troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and installing complex electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Applying mechanical aptitude to diagnose and resolve equipment and system malfunctions.
Ability to:
- Interpret and work from electrical prints, control circuits and electronic schematic diagrams
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate electrical and mechanical maintenance personnel.
- Assess situations and solve problems, and work effectively under stress, in emergency situations, within deadlines, and changes in work priorities.
