High Voltage Electrician

We are seeking a skilled High Voltage Technician to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-voltage electrical distribution systems within a large industrial manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring electrical reliability, equipment uptime, and safe operation of power distribution infrastructure.

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-voltage electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on substations, switch gear, transformers, breakers, and associated equipment.
• Support facility power distribution systems ranging from medium-voltage through high-voltage applications.
• Conduct switching operations and establish safe work conditions following approved procedures.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and power quality issues to minimize production downtime.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and equipment documentation.
• Maintain compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards.
• Support planned shutdowns, outages, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with contractors, utility providers, and internal maintenance teams.
• Complete maintenance documentation and work orders in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Participate in emergency response and on-call support as required.

• Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electricity, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining industrial electrical distribution systems.
• Experience working on equipment including:
• Medium- and high-voltage switch gear
• Power transformers
• Protective relays
• Circuit breakers
• Motor control centers
• Power distribution systems
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Valid driver's license.

• Journeyman Electrician License.
• Experience with in a manufacturing, automotive, chemical, or heavy industrial environment.
• Training or certification in high-voltage switching operations.
• Experience with protective relay testing and commissioning.
• Thermography, power quality analysis, or predictive maintenance experience.

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Ability to work in industrial environments, including exposure to heat, noise, and moving equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and work in confined spaces when required.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including arc-flash protective equipment.
