Aquatics Exercise Instructor

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Aquatics Exercise Instructor to lead safe, engaging and effective water-based fitness for adult participants. The instructor will create a welcoming environment that supports participants of all fitness levels, focusing on improving cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and overall well-being through aquatic movement.

• Design and conduct aquatic exercise classes for adults.
• Adapt classes to meet varying fitness levels, physical abilities, and age-related needs.
• Monitor participants to ensure proper techniques and safety at all times.
• Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and encouragement throughout classes.
• With assistance, set up and store equipment before and after sessions.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of aquatic fitness trends, techniques, and safety protocols.
• Respond appropriately to any incidents or emergencies, following facility procedures.
• Communicate effectively with aquatics staff.

• CPR, AED and First Aid certification (current or obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Experience teaching group fitness or aquatic fitness classes, particularly for adult populations.
• Experience working with older adults or individuals with mobility limitations.
• Background in kinesiology, exercise science, or related field.

• Weekday mornings.
• Additional hours may be available for subbing.
