Summary
Heritage High School is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to lead the junior varsity boys' tennis program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tennis coaching, a passion for developing young athletes, and the ability to foster a positive team environment. This position plays a crucial role in mentoring student‑athletes, promoting sportsmanship, and enhancing their skills in the sport of tennis.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for the junior varsity boys' tennis team.
- Conduct regular practices and drills to improve players' skills, techniques, and overall performance.
- Organize and oversee team competitions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
- Monitor and assess players' progress, providing feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff to ensure alignment with the overall athletic program goals.
- Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring a safe and organized environment for practices and matches.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with coaching techniques and strategies.
- Uphold and promote the values and standards of Heritage High School and its athletic programs.
- Previous coaching experience in tennis, preferably at the high school level.
- Strong knowledge of tennis techniques, strategies, and rules of play.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with student‑athletes and their families.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to fostering a positive team environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for practices and competitions.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- A background check will be required prior to employment.
- Passion for mentoring young athletes and promoting their personal and athletic development.
