Summary
This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that direct ship supplies and inventory supplies are distributed in a timely manner throughout the Health System. This involves managing the supply flow of the storeroom inventory items by receiving stock from vendors, restocking the shelves, picking orders, delivering supplies, clean linen operations, managing supply carts, equipment distribution, and maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly environment.
Responsibilities- (50%) Support the work of material handlers, order fulfillment and receiving personnel with stocking, organizing receipts, and cycle counts as required and directed by the manager. Expired inventory management, standard storage supply tasks (labels, bin organization, returns, etc.), communication for PAR levels, out of stocks, recalls, Nursing feedback from Customer Service tasks while working on units, customer service for clinical needs, process improvements when Leadership directs for next level operational excellence achievements.
- (30%) Complete supply requisition by removing from inventory those items requested, packaging the order, staging for delivery.
- (20%) Maintain a neat, clean and orderly storeroom, receiving area, and outside dock area. Ensures proper rotation of stock.
- Maintain equipment as required, such as charging the electric pallet jack.
- Distribute/deliver stock and non‑stock orders throughout the Medical Center, and MOBs including driving My Michigan vehicle and being able to be insured through My Michigan.
- Checks in/receives stock and items within the Materials Information System, replaces Supply Clerk II occasionally in relief.
- In the performance of the regular job duties, it is appropriate for this position to have access to the medication room and supply room for the purpose of stocking.

Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license and be eligible to drive a Mid Michigan Health vehicle.

- Ability to lift/handle heavy objects, stay on feet for long periods of time, and handle physical labor for long periods of time.
- Good customer service skills.
- Mandatory OSHA training must be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
- Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, trauma, grief and death.
- Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required.
- Move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
- Vision and hearing necessary with or without assisted device(s).
- Frequently required to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
- Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow My Michigan Health blood borne pathogen and TB testing as required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
- Dexterity required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements regularly.
- Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0‑33% of the workday) lift or carry 21–50 lbs., frequently 34‑66% of the workday 20 lbs., and constantly (67‑100%) 10 lbs.
