Diagnose malfunctions in production machinery and equipment. Installs, repairs and maintains machinery and equipment, physical structures, plumbing, refrigeration and electrical systems, in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.

3rd Shift - Sunday thru Wednseday

10:00pm-8:30am

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrument
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school;

OR six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch on ladders or mechanical equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds.

Pulmonary Exam will be required at hire and annual. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work Enviornment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet, hot and cold environment or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is exposed to sight & smell of food, dry & cold ingredients, and liquids. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; chemicals;

extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires that hearing protection be worn in production areas always.
