Car Wash Shift Lead

The Car Wash Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing daily car wash operations while leading and supporting team members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service. This role assists with staff training, customer service, sales transactions, equipment monitoring, and maintaining a clean and organized facility.

The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and able to lead by example in a fast-paced environment while ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and service standards are consistently maintained.

• Train, mentor, and support new car wash team members on operational procedures and customer service expectations.
• Supervise daily tasks and monitor team performance throughout the shift.
• Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure operational efficiency and accountability.
• Lead by example by maintaining professionalism, teamwork, and a positive work environment.
• Communicate operational updates, concerns, and shift priorities with management and team members.
• Process customer sales and transactions accurately using company POS systems.
• Assist customers with car wash package selections and general service questions.
• Promote positive customer interactions while supporting company sales goals and service standards.
• Maintain awareness of cash handling procedures and transaction accuracy.

• Ensure a safe environment for customers, employees, and vehicles throughout all car wash operations.
• Guide and process vehicles safely through the wash tunnel according to operational procedures.
• Dry vehicles and apply tire shine services as required.
• Monitor wash flow and assist in maintaining efficient vehicle throughput during busy periods.
• Check functionality of vacuums and report operational or maintenance concerns promptly.
• Assist with troubleshooting minor operational issues and elevate equipment concerns when necessary.
• Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines related to car wash equipment and vehicle movement.

• Deliver Tier 1 (T1) and Tier 2 (T2) customer experience standards through fast, friendly, and professional service.
• Greet and acknowledge customers with professionalism and courtesy.
• Maintain positive customer engagement throughout the service experience.
• Address customer concerns or service issues promptly and elevate situations when appropriate.
• Provide friendly farewells and ensure customers leave with a positive experience.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe car wash facility and work environment.
• Ensure tunnel, vacuum, and site appearance standards are consistently maintained.
• Perform routine cleaning and organization of wash areas, equipment areas, and customer spaces.
• Monitor site conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns to management.
• Assist with maintaining operational readiness of equipment and supplies throughout the shift.

• Previous car wash, automotive service, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic cash handling and POS system experience preferred.
• Ability to lead by example and support team performance throughout the shift.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining safety, service quality, and operational efficiency.
• Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and remain physically active throughout scheduled shifts.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry operational supplies and equipment as needed.
