ASARCO LLC seeks an Accounting Specialist for its Sahuarita, AZ location to assist with closing monthly accounting records, including but not limited to preparing journal entries, reports and reconciliations related to month end activity. Keep good records and accounting for ongoing project's expenditures and their commitment activity. Report and explain mining production activity in conjunction with the Mine General Manager. Develop and prepare financial and operational performance measurement, key indicator reports and project variance analysis for incorporation into monthly and quarterly financial packages.

Provides significant support to business unit managers in preparation for the Annual Capital Budget and assist with Capital Acquisitions inquiries.

Requirements

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in an analyst, lead, or accounting-related occupation.

Position Requires Experience In The Following
  • Troubleshooting financial transactions to determine their origin and identify issues requiring correction.
  • Using Excel to create dynamic pivot tables, X and V-Lookups, data validation, and macros.
  • Open Text Vendor Invoice Management (VIM), including VIM Analytics (VAM) for monitoring vendor invoice status and workflow tracking.
  • Using VIM Analytics (VAM) to review invoice lifecycle, identifying exceptions including price discrepancies, missing good receipts, and tracking responsible agents for resolutions.
  • Analytical skills to identify invoice processing bottlenecks and improve accounts payable workflow efficiency.
