TITLE: PREVENTION AIDE SPECIALIST / INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE
WORK SCHEDULE: 10 Months
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt/Support Staff Wage Schedule – Group B
Salary: $15.89
ResponsibilitiesGENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide instructional support to certified teachers; to enhance the learning environment of students through individualized focus on learning skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
INSTRUCTIONAL DUTIES
- Assists in preparation of instructional materials and physical environment;
- Assists in planning and preparation for group and individual activities;
- Assists substitute teacher to ensure continuity of learning process;
- Assists with parent activities;
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
STUDENT INTERACTION
- Supervises students as assigned, during non-instructional activities;
- Provides individual and group instructional support to reinforce skills;
- Provides enrichment and remedial assistance as required;
- Assists with testing to determine student placement;
- Assists with evaluation to determine student progress;
- Participates in activities that will develop positive interaction in the instructional process;
- Assists with testing as required;
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
A. Education, Training & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; AND an Associate's degree OR 60 credit hours from an accredited four-year college or university OR a passing score on an approved paraprofessional assessment (under NCLB);
- No prior experience required;
- Ability to communicate and work well with staff.
