Reporting to Mine Operations Trainer II, the Mine Operations Trainer I is responsible in assisting in the development and implementation of training programs for the Copper World Projects department.
This role will be located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona.Role Accountabilities
- Stands as a courageous safety leader by promoting and supporting the creation of a strong safety culture and safe practices and leading by example.
- Serves as a mentor and role model for all mine operations personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adherence to best practices.
- Participates in safety initiatives, toolbox meetings, hazard identification and incident investigations.
- Provides training and coaching of operators in the safe and efficient operation of all mobile equipment, including classroom work and fieldwork.
- Have excellent and positive communication skills appropriate to the training environment and trainees.
- Give directions and instructions to the Mine Operations’ identified peer trainers who assist with training.
- Conducts initial and periodic competency assessments of equipment operators and provides feedback to the Operator, Supervisor, and General Foreman.
- Evaluates equipment operators on their abilities to operate the equipment and other day-to-day activities safely and effectively to develop them to produce high-quality equipment operating skills.
- Documents all competency assessment information, and standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance.
- Maintains accurate records of training events
- Implements training action plans for operators that require further education, training, and coaching.
