ASARCO LLC seeks a Reliability Engineer for its Sahuarita, AZ location to develop, implement, and maintain reliability programs to improve equipment availability, performance, and lifecycle costs across plant assets. Perform condition monitoring and predictive maintenance activities, including vibration analysis, lubrication analysis, thermography, and ultrasound inspections. Analyze equipment failures using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and recommend corrective and preventive actions to eliminate repeat failures.
Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. Monitor and trend equipment health data, maintenance KPIs, and reliability metrics to support data driven decision making. Provide technical guidance, training, and support to maintenance personnel on reliability best practices and equipment care.
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a reliability engineering-related occupation.
Position requires experience in the following:
- 1. Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance Techniques, including vibration analysis, oil/lubrication analysis, thermography, and ultrasound to assess equipment health.
- 2. Conducting structured failure investigations using recognized RCFA methodologies, including fault tree analysis and cause and effect analysis to identify failure mechanisms and corrective actions.
- 3. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Program Development, optimizing, and maintaining PM/PdM strategies, including task selection, intervals, and failure mode alignment.
- 4. Analyzing equipment performance data and reliability metrics, including MTBF, MTTR, and availability using CMMS, EAM, or maintenance systems such as SAP PM.
- 5. Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) or Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) on rotating equipment and fixed equipment.
- 6. Identifying corrosion mechanisms and fatigue patterns to develop Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategizes and optimize MTBF across full asset Lifecycle.
Various and unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. 10% domestic travel required.
