Pit Driller

You are a seasoned Platform or Pioneer Driller who takes pride in the safe, precise, and efficient operation of production drilling equipment within a developing large open‑pit mining environment. With hands‑on experience across a variety of drill types, you consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to operational excellence and safety standards. You are a self‑motivated professional, always seeking opportunities to expand your skills, contribute to team success, and grow within the mining industry.

• Operate a platform drill Cat 6200 and a Sandvik Leopard DI650i.
• Operate and understand the mechanics of a top‑head drilling unit equipped with multi‑function joysticks and GPS on a mine site.
• Comply with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures of drilling in a large open‑pit surface mine.
• Understand the limitations of the drill rig and the performance it can safely provide.
• Detect and perform small mechanical repairs to the drill.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members when needed and work with minimal supervision.

• Minimum one year’s surface drilling experience using various drilling units.
• Thorough knowledge of drill patterns and the structure in which they are developed.
• MSHA P.48 metal/non‑metal ticket is required; training and support are provided to obtain or update the certificate as needed.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing.

• 5 days on with 4 days off, working 12‑hour days that may alternate between day and night shift rotation.
• Overtime rates apply after 40 hours per week and are paid at time and a half.
• Living out allowance provided for those who qualify.
