Special Educator - Community Integration Program
Maple Run Unified School District BFA Bellows Free Academy is seeking a dynamic Special Educator for grades 9-12. The position involves coordinating and/or providing special education services and accommodations to eligible students in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, policies, procedures, and laws. The Special Educator will ensure students are supported in learning a grade‑appropriate instructional program from an approved curriculum, assist in creating a learning environment that motivates learners, and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, agency contacts, and other staff members.
The role collaborates closely with content areas and learning community colleagues to meet student learning needs.
Pay scale is based on education/licensing and experience.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master’s degree preferred. Demonstrated skill in working with school students with disabilities is required.
- Working knowledge of Special Education state and federal guidelines, regulations and laws.
- Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies, accommodations, and interventions for students with emotional/behavioral challenges.
- Valid Vermont Teaching License with appropriate endorsement as a Consulting Teacher and/or in Special Education (9-12).
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Membership in a teaching or special education association preferred.
Position Type: Full‑time
Salary: $54,700 to $90,450 per year
