Hiring Range: $32.1200 to $46.3800 USD
Physical TherapistJob Summary
The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services for inpatients and outpatients across a spectrum of ages and within the continuum of care. Evaluates clients, plans and implements treatment programs which restores, reinforces, and/or enhances function.
Pre-requisitesEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy with current licensure in the State of Vermont.
RelationshipsReports To: Director of Rehabilitation Services
Other Contacts: Patients, families, visitors, providers and their staff, business partners and hospital employees
ScopeMachinery or Equipment Used: Ambulatory aids, therapeutic laser, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, exercise equipment and other patient care equipment. Computer and photocopier.
Physical Demands: Frequent, prolonged standing/walking. Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients, occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. Manual dexterity and mobility and moderate physical effort.
Working Conditions: May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases, occasional exposure under a wide variety of circumstances. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
Required Protective Equipment: PPE as situation warrants

- Refers concerns/issues to appropriate resources
- Protects confidentiality of patients
- Communicates with patients, team members, and management in an accurate and timely manner
- Meets productivity standards of ≥ 67% (solid = average of 67% for running 12 month period)
- Completes timely clinical documentation/order entry
- Complies and follows all payer guidelines/limitations (including referrals and plan of cares)
- Complies with re-administration of Outcome measures demonstrating patients are making meaningful progress meeting dept expectation of 90% re-admin rate for discharged charts with ≥ 8 visits.
- Prioritizes Tasks/Organizes multitask workload
- Demonstrates problem solving and decision making skills
- Offers assistance to others in critical thinking and seeks assistance as needed
- Successful chart audits demonstrating need for skilled services and appropriate treatment progression.
- Up-to-date research on “best practices” evident in peer chart audits
- Provides appropriate information to patient
- Assess for barriers to learning
- Uses colleagues as a learning resource
- Supports the preceptorship program
- Acknowledges limits of experience and capability
