DescriptionThe Office of the Public Defender in St. Albans, Vermont has an opening for a full‑time staff attorney. This public defender will work in a staff office with four other attorneys, one investigator, and two legal assistants. The legal practice is a mix of criminal and juvenile law, and the office serves both Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. This is an exempt, full‑time position with State benefits.
The successful candidate is required to be a member in good standing of the Vermont bar or be eligible to obtain admission by waiver. Prior relevant legal practice or background in criminal law is preferred.
CompensationSalary will be based upon qualifications and experience and will follow the Office of the Defender General Pay Plan.
