Education Specialist RN

The Education Specialist RN is responsible for the implantation, monitoring, and evaluation of the organization's clinical education and on-boarding programs, ensuring high quality services that meet regulatory requirements and standards of practice.

Experience: 5 years acute care nursing experience.

Skills: Fluent in regulatory standards to include The Joint Commission, OSHA, Centers for Medicaid & Medicare to build curriculum for hospital staff both for on boarding and continuing education. Fluent in Microsoft Suites:
Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook.

• Employees, Managers, Providers, Volunteers; all members of the NMC workforce

• Machinery or Equipment Used:
• Clinical equipment/supplies, computers, photocopier, electronic monitoring and treatment devices.
• Physical Demands:
• Mostly sedentary with occasional lift or push heavy equipment/supplies.
• Working Conditions:
• Office setting, some exposure to clinical settings to include risk of exposure associated with blood-born or other infectious or contagious diseases. Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. Occasionally subject to irregular hours or unpredictable work situations. Subject to stressful environment due to multiple demands.
• Required Protective Equipment:
• Fit testing required

Creates on-boarding curriculum to meet regulatory and clinical requirements of all positions within the organization in collaboration with the department leaders.

Interprets standards to understand the intent or rational of the regulation.

Assists with hospital preparation for accrediting and regulatory surveys
.

Implementation, design, and assessment of training programs for clinical staff.

Ensures evidence-based clinical education is occurring at all sites.

Coordinates and tracks educational activities for clinical and non-clinical staff.

Collaborates with supervisors and directors to ensure staff competencies are assigned and completed as expected.

Provides data and analysis regarding quality assurance and quality improvement to the Director of Professional & Organizational Development and works to prioritize educational needs of the organization.

Maintains updated and accurate records of learning activities and competencies.

In collaboration with the unit leaders, ensures all staff are up to date with trainings and competencies.

Submit report and status updates of training activities and staff compliance with required tasks.

Promotes evidence-based practices and the highest quality standards of patient care.

Supports Clinical Educators and Clinical Nurse Leaders with educational initiatives. #IND
