Quality Inspector
The Quality Inspector positions maintain quality standards by approving in-process production, finished products, and incoming materials while recording quality results. The role supports STC’s quality principles of "Right the First Time," delivering within agreed time frames, working cooperatively with all departments, and exceeding customer expectations through proactive quality planning.
Essential Functions- Proactively support a culture of safety and quality as top organizational priorities.
- Actively participate in ongoing training initiatives and collaborate with team members and leadership to share information in a structured process.
- Approve in-process production by confirming requirements, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating results to production personnel as required.
- Approve finished products by confirming requirements, conducting visual and measurement tests, and ensuring non-compliant products are processed, reprocessed, or reworked to meet compliance.
- Approve incoming materials by confirming requirements, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting non-conforming materials, and facilitating returns with appropriate documentation to external providers.
- Document inspection results by completing appropriate documented information (e.g., inspection reports, logs, data) and inputting data into manufacturing and quality systems.
- Ensure integrity and calibration of measurement equipment by following operating instructions and Quality Management System documentation, notifying appropriate personnel when calibration concerns arise.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with all regulations.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Support and execute the Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, and the organization’s mission.
- 3–5 years of production experience, preferably in a quality or supervisory role.
- Technical degree with a focus on quality or equivalent work experience.
- Strong, clear, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with the operation of production and test equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Compensation Range: $37,500 – $56,300 depending on experience. This position may be eligible for a performance-based bonus plan.
