Job Summary
Global Partners is looking for a Food Service Supervisor / Deli Lead. The supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising all activities in the deli and food service department and its personnel to achieve merchandising, sales, and guest service goals established for the department.
Responsibilities- Direct department personnel and communicate with store management and department supervisors to meet departmental goals and objectives.
- Select, onboard, and coach all new team members.
- Schedule all team members.
- Offer product information, provide selling suggestions and active sampling, and always give a genuine thank you.
- Take guest orders, ensure orders are completed on time and to the guest's satisfaction.
- Ensure department personnel follow all county, city, and company food safety and sanitation guidelines and policies.
- Order products and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels and keep merchandising at prescribed standards.
- Oversee the preparation, serving, and merchandising of deli/food service items—including breakfast, lunch, dinner entrees, fried foods, pizzas, prepared salads, soups, sandwiches, roller‑grill items, hot and cold beverages, and snack items.
- Display items following deli and food service department and/or company merchandising guidelines.
- Follow product recipes without deviation.
- Rotate items for sale, ensuring quality, safety, and shrink control.
- Receive merchandise, audit invoices, break down orders, and position cases in storage, walk‑in coolers, or freezers.
- Periodically count products for inventory purposes.
- Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
- Process cash register transactions, give change, and issue refunds.
- Use the scale printer machine to ensure weights and pricing are correct.
- Monitor product pricing, signage, placement, and use of shelf tags and signage.
- Keep sales counters, food prep areas, warehouse shelving, and walk‑in coolers/freezers clean, neat, and orderly.
- Ensure all personnel use proper safety equipment and procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned by management.
- Work with deli ingredients, including meats, vegetables, fruits, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years old.
- Minimum of 2 years in a fresh food environment, preferably in a managerial role.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and assist other locations as needed.
- Must have reliable transportation and an active driver's license.
- Serv‑safe certification preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Experience working in walk‑in coolers and freezers.
- Comfortable with standing for long periods, bending, twisting below the waist, and manipulating merchandise.
- Dexterity with hands and fingers to use equipment such as knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers, and rotisseries.
$16.82 – $20.24 per hour, based on experience, knowledge, skills, and geographic location.
