DescriptionWRAPAROUND PEER PARENT PARTNER
An integral member of the Child and Family Team, the primary role of the Parent Partner is to provide active, hands‑on “peer” support to parents of youth/young adults receiving services within the Wraparound Program. This position provides guidance and support to families/caregivers in a variety of environments within the Franklin County and Grand Isle, VT area. The Parent Partner works independently in the family’s home and in a variety of community and/or treatment settings, serving as a liaison for parent involvement.
Under the supervision of the Facilitator/Case Manager, the Parent Partner works with a client’s caregiver to implement treatment‑plan goals that are family‑centered, community‑oriented, strength‑based, culturally sensitive and highly individualized. Parent Partners represent the interests and concerns of caregivers participating in the Wraparound Program through NFI located in St. Albans, VT.
Qualifications- Must have personal life experience as a parent or caregiver of at‑risk children.
- High School Diploma, General Equivalency Degree or higher.
- Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
- Experience working with families/children involved with the juvenile justice system, dependency court system, child welfare system.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to relate to a culturally diverse clientele and professional colleagues.
- Possession of a valid Vermont driver’s license and utilization of a personal vehicle.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- Familiar with Windows operating system, MS Word, Excel, email, etc.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
This position is 40 hours per week with a pay range of $21-$23 per hour and offers a comprehensive benefits package including tuition reimbursement.
