Company Description Teays Valley Engineering (TVE) is a West Virginia–based corporation providing specialized engineering services to the natural gas industry, with a strong focus on electrical and automation solutions. The company offers three core services: engineering and design, field services, and panel and control building fabrication. TVE develops electrical and control system designs, procures equipment, prepares AutoCAD drawings and engineering documents, and programs PLC, HMI, and RTU systems.
In partnership with Raptor Energy Systems, TVE builds fully assembled control buildings in its St Albans, WV shop to house gas measurement, gas quality, and other electrical and electronic equipment. TVE serves as a comprehensive provider that can support projects from conceptual design through startup and commissioning.
Role Description The Electrician will be a full-time, on-site team member based in St Albans, WV, supporting electrical and automation projects for natural gas industry clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, wiring, and terminating electrical equipment and control panels in control buildings and related facilities. The Electrician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot electrical issues, and assist with instrument setup, calibration, and system testing.
This role will collaborate closely with engineers and technicians during startup and commissioning to ensure safe, reliable operation of electrical and control systems. The Electrician will follow all applicable safety standards, maintain accurate documentation of work performed, and help identify opportunities to improve installation and maintenance practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge of electricity and practical electrical work skills, including safe handling of electrical systems.
- Experience with maintenance and repair of industrial electrical equipment, including routine inspections and corrective actions.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control system issues using diagnostic tools and systematic problem-solving methods.
- Familiarity with basic electrical engineering principles related to power distribution and control systems is beneficial.
- Relevant technical training or certification as an electrician; state or local electrician license preferred.
- Experience in industrial or energy-sector environments, ideally involving control panels, instrumentation, or automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation (e.g., AutoCAD-generated layouts).
- Commitment to safety, adherence to applicable codes and regulations, and ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Reliable transportation to the St Albans, WV site and readiness to work in field and shop environments as needed.
